The difference between banner ads and interstitial ads.
If your blog is using interstitial ads, we can earn more per-click. While for banner ads, the payment are very low.
However, blog using interstitial ads are more annoying to the visitors compared to banner ads. After clicking a link (shorten with adfly) , visitor will be directed to ad page before he or she can visit the actual target link. If we are using banner ads, the ads will appear as a banner at the target page. Less annoying. But again, the payment are low.
I prefer to use banner ads if its just a link to another website. I get less money, but my blog reader are not annoyed.
However, i will definitely use interstitial ads if its related to freebies like when I am giving away free ebook. Clicking the link will direct the user to ad page, but its okay because the freebies they will get is worth it.
